I am just Junco Book Three

Junco and her team must travel to earth in order to save The Siblings of Earth. Along the way Junco finds that everywhere she turns is full of secrets and revelations. What if you had the power to save a race of beings at the cost of the other? Junco may be strong willed but what she faces back on Earth will be a trial even for her.

I love Junco she is a loud mouthed character who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Plus she cusses like a sailor and chain smokes cigars, what’s not to love? What was annoying in this book though was that the men in Junco’s life seemed to turn into whining and needy men, each one vying for Junco’s attention and pouting if she didn’t reciprocate. Other than that the book is pretty good with tons of action and adventure, and so many twists it is hard to keep count. I did have one question, at the end of the book how did they keep everything straight? That’s all I will say or I will run the risk of ruining the book for those who haven’t yet read it. This is one of those books though you definitely want to read the rest of the series before jumping in. From page one this book held my attention I wasn’t a fan of the ending but it is definitely a great way to make sure you keep reading the series.

All Jazz wants to do is drown her sorrows, her partner is in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, she has been shunned by most of the cops in the city, and she has just enough money left to get really drunk. While she is minding her own business a man comes up to her in his brand new leather outfit making him stick out like a sore thumb in the biker bar, but what is truly weird is the man knows her name and has an envelope for her. She has never been to this particular bar before and only just decided right before arriving.

I have to say it, I loved Jazz, she is a smart mouth who can back it up but there is so much more to her than just that she is kind and caring even if she pulls her gun first and asks questions later. I wasn’t sure what the story would be about as the synopsis I had read was fairly vague but it turned out to be a unique and fun read. I know Rachel Caine has also written the Morganville Vampire series, even though I have only read two of those I have to say that Rachel Caine is a truly surprising author. She has come up with two of the most original series that I have ever come across but not only that none of her books that I have read even come close to anyone else’s. This book in particular you have great characters an amazing storyline all surrounding the good versus evil premise. This is certainly a must read and I look forward to what Rachel Caine has in store next.

Suzie Burris is waiting for her husband to get home so she can ask for a divorce. Having agreed to have a child to try to connect with each other she is now the new mother of a two month old baby and has had enough of her philandering husband. As Suzie is anxiously waiting for her husband Detective Nick Jeffries shows up to inform her that her husband has been murdered.

I usually like what Harlequin releases, this is one of those instances where it was a miss for me. Granted Marie Ferrerella is a great author, she does a wonderful job in bringing her story fully to life. The problem is the story itself. First off you have a woman who has just given birth and whose husband has just been murdered but she is constantly taking off and leaving her two month old son with her sister. Then you take into account that this is a romance novel and she will inevitably fall in love with the detective, again I see what the author is trying to say that the marriage has been over for a while but her husband died what a few hours ago and she is falling for someone else? I think that if the author had switched Suzie and her sister Lori characters with each other she would have had a much better novel. The third problem I have follows the not so subtle:

The absolutely biggest problem I had was when as you may have predicted her son and sister are kidnapped. And what does a grieving widow whose child is in danger do? You guessed it, have passionate sex with the man who is supposed to be working on her husband’s case. Wait what?

Unfortunately I did not like this book which is rare from me as I said I usually like what Harlequin puts out there, this one was just too much. There’s drama then there is “You’ve got to be kidding me!”

Elizabeth Murphy has just inherited Miss Hattie’s Henhouse, for an uptight and proper librarian all she wants to do is get rid of it one day she finds a man tied to a bed and soon her life takes an unexpected twist.

When I first started this book I kept getting angry, let me explain. I am from West Texas where Brant is traveling to Miss Hattie’s, there actually is a Miss Hattie’s in West Texas so when the author was describing the fallen down mansion I knew she was way off the mark. Miss Hattie’s is in San Angelo, Texas and has actually been made into a museum; it is located above a jewelry store in downtown San Angelo. Finally I came to the part where the author says “Bramble, Texas” and I was completely relieved that she did not mean the actual Miss Hattie’s. Once I was over that little hurdle I actually loved the book. The three old “Hens” who still live in Miss Hattie’s were my absolute favorite as they always seemed to be getting into trouble one way or another. These ladies may have been my favorite characters but Katie Lane created some absolutely fabulous characters including Brant and Elizabeth, but also a wide range of supporting characters that truly add new dimensions to an already fun read. Katie Lane has created an amazing romance, fantastic characters, and a storyline that is completely captivating. This is definitely worth the read.

Everything seems to be going perfectly, until Jack’s secret begins to surface. Everyone has secrets, some secrets are worse than others and some secrets can change your life forever.

This isn’t your average book, it’s written as a full blown adult novel surrounding college students. With tons of passion and steamy encounters, Amelia James has brought to life a great romance novel. The characters are relatable and the struggles they face are realistic. What I loved the most was that the climactic revelation is something that could actually happen, unlike most novels where climax is something so far-fetched, granted still entertaining. Basically if E.L. James and Debbie Macomber had a love child this would be the result of that union. I loved it, though I must warn you it is full of highly adult scenes so it will not be for everyone.

Dana Carlson is demolishing a building when her niece calls telling her that her sister is sick and needs her. Dana Carlson rushes to Black Bear Minnesota only to find out she is a few hours late. The longer Dana stays, the more she realizes her niece and brother in law need her and what killed her sister may take the rest of her family if she doesn’t put a stop to it.

There are not a lot of surprises with this novel; it is more a play on the emotions. The revelations are a bit predictable but this is still a great read as the author creates a dramatic novel worthy of the best soap opera. The only problem I had was in the ending. I am starting to see a pattern with really good dramatic novels; most of them have horrible endings. I always want more, what happened to Dana, or Peyton, or even Peyton’s fish? This is why I am a huge fan of the epilogue. Other than that it is a beautiful read, and if Carla Buckley had not created such wonderful characters I wouldn’t want to find out what happens so badly.

After their plane goes down a group of survivors find themselves stranded in a remote area of New Zealand. Through the eyes of the survivors we are shown a world that has been drastically changed after the United States was wiped off the face of the Earth because of a natural disaster that is still sending shockwaves throughout the rest of the world. Eden is the beginning of the end in the year 2022.

There is no way to do this novel justice with a brief synopsis, first you have several unique characters each with their own story to tell, and then the story itself is multi-faceted with twists and turns that will leave you dying of anticipation of what will come next. This book is futuristic, with a touch of paranormal, and a dash of murder/mystery, and tons of action and adventure making certain to have something for everyone. What is great about this novel is though this book has so much going on the author manages to incorporate each action and reaction seamlessly into a cohesive and fascinating novel. This is certainly the beginning of the end and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

Matt has been a slave to the Ogres for the past seven years, even though his life is really hard it is what he is used to. So when his best friend Donna decides she is going to run away Matt does everything he can to stop her. Soon after Donna disappears a buzzard shows up to rescue Matt and since he has nothing left he decides to give it a try.

This was an interesting book, though I am having a hard time trying to figure out who the story is directed at. It seems too short to be a middle grade book which makes you think a children’s book, but there is talk of torture and Matt is stabbed so I think it’s a bit old for a children’s book. I would definitely read through this before you hand it over to your kids for consumption. Luckily it is not very long so a quick read through will tell you everything you need to know. I did enjoy the story, it is full of magical creatures and overcoming life’s obstacles. Be forewarned though the author leaves off with a major cliffhanger, so hopefully the next book will be released soon!

Genetically engineered potato chips are more flavorful, and also tend to talk more than your average chip. And so begins the adventures of the Super Spud potato chips!

I can handle absurd crude humor; sometimes I even love it that was not the problem with this book. My problem is that there was no point. It seemed to be one short story after another, which is not bad but the author bounces around from one story to the next so frequently you cannot connect to the story or the characters themselves. Since this book is supposed to be at least three separate novels you want there to be a concise beginning middle and end for each book. The stories seemed more suited for children, take out the violence add some pictures and you will have an amazing children’s series. What I did like about the book where some of the characters that were based off pop culture or historic icons, can you imagine Robin Hood or Indiana Jones as potato chips?

Shelby Pardow doesn’t have the easiest life, her father is abusive and her mother is long gone. Shelby uses the library as her escape, one day she is at one of the computer when she gets an incoming massage that reads: You Are Needed. She is soon transported to Azimuth where it turns out she is Kin to one of the six Aulic Assembly members who are imprisoned by an evil warlord. Shelby with the help of the other Kin will soon be thrust head first into a battle to stop Malefic once and for all.

This is one of those novels that I just could not put down. From the beginning Michael Dadich displays a phenomenal ability to involve the reader into the storyline with an emotional entrance into the novel as Shelby’s father is tormenting her through to the transformation she undergoes as the story progresses. Not only does the author pull you in emotionally but he also creates some highly unique creatures as well as the setting of the book making each scene more fascinating than the next. I certainly had a lot of fun reviewing this book and I look forward to seeing what Michael Dadich will come up with next.

Persephone has just found out that she is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter making her a Goddess. Yep that’s right, if this isn’t enough to turn your entire world upside down how about having the God of Winter, Boreas, try to kidnap you. Still not enough? When Persephone is rescued by Hades the God of the Underworld he has to take her as his bride to keep her safe. Oh yeah Nothing will ever be the same for Persephone again.

I had so much fun reading this book. This is actually an amazing take on a classical Greek Myth. Though you may think you know the characters that take part in this book the author completely surprises you as she takes each character and makes them her own, Hades for instance is nothing like I have ever imagined. Each character is absolutely unique and combining refreshing originality with excellent writing Kaitlin Bevis has created a story that is captivating with characters that come to life among the pages of this book. This is definitely a great read and I cannot wait to find out what happens next in the series.

Lila is fourteen years old living in the seventies her family seems to forget about her as soon as she is out of sight, one day as she is out playing she meets James, an older man who loves to sexually manipulate little girls. George is the father of James’ previous victim and is on a hunt for justice. On his search, George finds Lila who has been left pregnant and alone after two years of abuse. George knows he cannot leave her to fend for herself, so he takes her home and into his family.

Kimberly Gould has written some vivid and highly graphic scenes, what is a compliment to the author’s abilities is actually what I disliked the most. The first thirty percent of this book is about James and what he is doing to a confused little girl. Thirty percent of highly graphic sexual scenes between a fourteen year old and a twenty-something man. I understand the need for a connection to the story through the events that have taken place, but there is such a thing as too much. Then you have the scene where George and his wife are in their own intimate situation and he begins thinking about what has been done to his daughter… What? I do think Kimberly Gould has potential, this storyline however was not a great place to flex her descriptive narration in such great details it took this book from dramatic to just weird and disturbing.

Danyael Sabre is an Alpha Empath combined with his medical training he is one of the best empathic healers in the world. His empathy can not only heal though it can also be used to kill, making Danyael the target of the military that will stop at nothing to extort his power for their own.

Jade Kerrion has certainly come up with a highly unique and fascinating world. Where people are born and even created with amazing powers. The only problem with this novel is that it does drag on in some places, though this does build the suspense in certain areas and makes the action scenes that much more powerful it can become tedious. Other than this the novel has some amazing action scenes and along with a struggle with morality it is certainly an amazing science fiction novel. I did enjoy this book even with some of the slow spots, Jade Kerrion is a fantastic story teller, creating some of the most poignant and amazing scenes. I know from Perfection Unleashed that Jade Kerrion can do so much better so I am looking forward to the next novel and hopefully we will have more of the epic plot twists I enjoyed so much in book one.

Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy take apprentice angel Will to Time’s Square New York City for the New Year’s celebration. While there Will sees two lonely people standing in the middle of a crowd full of people kissing. Deciding to spread a little Holiday Cheer Will uses his wings to have them bump into each other. For Lucie and Aren it was love at first sight standing in the middle of Times Square they have their first kiss, deciding to meet up a week later at the top of the Empire State Building. Fully intending to go Lucie must soon rush to the hospital instead of meeting Aren. One year later Shirley, Goodness, Mercy, and Will must right the wrong that took place and help these two people find the way to their happily ever after.

Debbie Macomber is a wonderful author, the romance she has created her is so beautiful even though the story is complete with an amazing epilogue you still crave more. I have never read an Angels Everywhere novel before, now however I wish I had found them sooner The four angels are so much fun to read about as every time they make an appearance something goes completely hay wire adding a levity to the novel that is absolutely fantastic. I mean how can you go wrong with an invisible angel leading a camel down Broadway? This is only one tiny example of the hilarious antics that the angels find themselves in. Though the novel is highly funny Debbie Macomber manages to keep the humor and the deep emotional bond separate and intertwining at the same time with neither one taking away from the other yet each adding a new dimension to the story. I definitely had fun reading this book, though I feel cheated that I hadn’t known about the series previously, now is definitely the time to remedy that!

It all begins with a bet. Paul Stratford makes a bet with his business partner, Jonathon Mackenzie, that his step daughter will not be seduced by Jonathon’s son. So the two of the devise a scheme to have Megan and Drew in each other’s way to see who will win.

Drew and Megan seem to be a match made in Hades but the further book goes along the more the two seem to become something so much more. This was a fun book with quite a few unexpected twists. Though some editting is still needed for this novella Adriana Law has come up with a brilliant story with plenty of potential as the series continues. I did have one big problem with this book and of course it is towards the end so I cannot say what it is without a spoiler alert but I will say it is just my personal opinion and not everyone will see it the same way I do.

**Spoiler Alert**

Safe sex c’mon they even talk about how Megan doesn’t want to have sex without a condom because of her fear of Contracting HIV. Good job there, but when she finds out Drew is a virgin it seems it’s ok to have unprotected sex. But wait! How do we know that Megan doesn’t already have a nasty STD she is about to pass on to poor unsuspecting Drew?

Other than that the story is great the romance is beautiful the plot twists are truly surprising and may make you want to resort to physical violence towards one or more of the characters, and at 112 pages it is definitely worth the quick read.

Even though Maggie Hope is the main character in this novel the author also brings to life an array of side characters each one bringing a new and interesting perspective on the War. From the young princess’ to the Nazis each character adds new dimension to the story itself making this a truly diversified read. If all of this is not enough for you, there is still an amazing mystery full of plot twists and intrigue. Then just for good measure the author throws in one heck of a twist at the end to guarantee you will come back for more.

Quinn is the leader of a Resistance which often puts her in the middle of one fight after another but this time the causality is too close to home, her best friend Jack is trapped in his tiger form searching for the remnants of his humanity. This is only the beginning of the story as we travel around the world and become immersed in a battle to save all of humanity.

This is an amazing book and thankfully it is a stand-alone novel or I would have been completely lost. I have actually read the first two books in this series and this one puts those to shame. From the beginning this book is filled with action and adventure, this series isn’t called the “Warriors of Poseidon” for nothing. To make this book even better Allysa Day takes a story that is already absolutely captivating and adds in a fierce romance between two amazing characters. Not only did the author create amazing characters with engrossing story lines but she has also created some of the most vivid and breathtaking scenes imaginable. I love this book and I am definitely going to go back and read more of the series.

Gabriel March is barely keeping her head above water as her promise to keep her father’s newspaper going may sink her financially. As she is struggling to find a way to pay the electric bill a strange summons comes in the mail from Elizabeth Hastings. Elizabeth is determined to right a terrible wrong that was exacted on Gabrielle March’s family.

This was a great book, full of finding love and becoming a part of a family, but also mystery and intrigue this is a phenomenal romance novel. I loved Elizabeth Hastings though she wasn’t a main character exactly she was my favorite. Elizabeth Hastings is an eccentric rich old lady and Christie McKee truly brings her to life through snippets of her past as well as being a part of the story that is currently taking place. I review the entire book the writing, the story line, the characters, as well as the presentation of the novel. In this case I don’t understand the cover, the only thing that seems to fit is the dog, I mean the story is about a person who becomes super rich and the man she falls in love with who she first mistakes as a millionaire playboy who does nothing with his life. When I see the couple in the picture it does not scream wealth like the characters in the story did. Besides the cover I could not find anything wrong with this novel, the author is an impressive composer and has brought to life some amazing scenes, the storyline is fun and entertaining, it is definitely a book worth reading.

This novella centers on Kate and Nick. Kate has always been the rebound girl, second choice and left behind. For a long time she has had a crush on Nick but he has never seemed to notice her until now but she has a hard time believing his intentions are noble.

Carly Philips has created a cute romance, being a novella it is a quick read yet still highly entertaining. Even though this is an entertaining book I felt that the romance was lacking, maybe it is because I have not read any of the series prior to this, the romance seemed rushed since this is a novella it is understandable. However, the characters each of the characters in the story are so captivating and interesting that this is certainly a fantastic teaser making you want to read more from the series.

Lila spent three days wanting nothing more to wallow in the failure of her marriage when she ends up having an affair with a man. A few months later she is now sitting in front of Austin, and though he has the same name as the man who consumed her for three glorious days and nights he is not the man she knew so intimately. That is when Spence walks in, the man she knows as Austin.

This was such a cute story I loved the characters and the family dynamic that takes place between HelenKay Dimon’s characters. She also managed to create some beautiful scenes from the resort that is falling down to the steamy love scenes, the author is able to capture each moment, each thought and feeling so vividly that this is an amazing read.

Caitlin has been in love with Kyle for years but he is her best friend so she will not go into that territory. One day Kyle asks her to help him propose to his girlfriend.

Ok so this story is a miss for me. First off Kyle doesn’t love his girlfriend he just wants to marry her to make his dad happy. Then Caitlin just sits back and lets it happen. But it is cute and like all great fluffy romances has a happy ending. I did enjoy the scenes that Christi created; she truly brings Christmas to life.

I loved it this is a great romance novella Brody and Tori and two characters that are lovable and the romance between them is beautiful as each one has their own insecurities that they must overcome in order to be in a relationship. Not only does Jaci Burton create two amazing characters but she also manages to create an entire family that is fun to read about, and what is a Christmas story without family?
